Ingredients

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup margarine or 1/4 butter
1 tablespoon anise seed
3 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.In a large bowl, cream together brown sugar, white sugar, and margarine or butter until light and fluffy. Stir in anise seed and eggs.
3.In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually mix flour mixture into egg mixture to form a dough. Add in sliced almonds.
4.Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a 2 inch wide log. Place the logs on the prepared baking sheet.
5.Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until light brown on the outside. Allow to cool slightly.
6.Cut the logs into half inch slices diagonally and place them back on the baking sheet.
7.Bake biscotti for an additional 5-8 minutes or until crispy. Remove from oven and let it cool to room temperature before serving.
