Ingredients

450 g desiree potatoes or 450 g king edward potatoes
2 cloves garlic , peeled and halved lengthways
25 g butter
225 g grated lancashire cheese
salt and pepper

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 200°C./Gas Mark 6.
2.Peel the potatoes then cut them into small chunks.
3.Boil the potatoes in salted water for 20 minutes, or until soft.
4.Drain the potatoes then mash them with a potato ricer.
5.Heat a frying pan over medium heat then add the garlic cloves and cook for 2 minutes.
6.Add the mashed potatoes and butter to the frying pan and heat for about 2 minutes.
7.Gradually add grated lancashire cheese and continuously stir until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8.Serve immediately with a sprinkle of salt and black pepper.
