Ingredients

3 green bell peppers
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion
1 clove garlic , minced
salt and pepper to taste
1 roma ( plum ) tomato , diced
Algerian Flafla, also known as Bell Pepper Salad, is a simple and flavorful recipe that originated in Algeria. This salad is made by roasting or grilling bell peppers until they are soft and sweet, and then tossing them with diced tomatoes, garlic, and onion. Instructions

1.Preheat your oven on high Broil (or Grill) mode.
2.Cut the bell peppers into halves, and remove the seeds and white ribs.
3.In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, red onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
4.Brush the mixture over the bell pepper halves and place them on a baking sheet with the skin-side up.
5.Broil them in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the skin of the peppers is blackened and charred.
6.Remove the peppers from the oven and put them in a heatproof bowl.
7.Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let them sit for 10-15 minutes so that the steam can help loosen the skin.
8.Once the peppers have cooled enough to handle, gently peel off the charred skin.
9.Slice the bell peppers into thin strips, and place them in a mixing bowl.
10.Add the diced tomato, and toss to combine.
11.Season with more salt and pepper if needed.
