8 scallions , thinly sliced

4 tablespoons white wine ( or red )
4 teaspoons fresh rosemary , chopped
2 pinches sugar

Instructions

1.In a large bowl mix the ground beef with two-thirds of the sliced scallions, garlic, parmesan cheese, thyme, salt, and freshly ground black pepper, until well combined.
2.Roll the meat mixture into balls roughly the size of large walnuts.
3.Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat, and add the meatballs.
4.Brown the meatballs all over, shaking the pan occasionally to make sure they don't stick, for approximately 8–10 minutes.
5.When the meatballs are well browned, reduce the heat to low and add the chopped tomatoes, white wine, rosemary, sugar, salt, and pepper, stirring carefully to coat the meatballs with the tomato sauce.
6.Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the tomato sauce has thickened slightly.
7.Garnish with the remaining sliced scallions and serve with crusty bread and a fresh green salad.
