Ingredients

1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 cups sugar ( I only use 1 cup )
1/2 cup margarine ( I used light margarine )
3 cups oats
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a large pot, combine the milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and margarine, and cook over medium heat until everything is melted and mixed well.
2.Remove from heat, and stir in the oats, vanilla flavoring, shredded coconut, and chopped walnuts, if using, until everything is well combined.
3.Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, and let them cool for at least 30 minutes or until they are firm and crunchy.
