Ingredients

500 g cod , fish skinless and boneless cut into cubes
300 g tomatoes , chopped
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 onions , chopped
1 teaspoon fennel seed
6 -8 red chilies
2 teaspoons coriander seeds
1 teaspoon onion seeds
1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon red chili powder
5 -6 green chilies , finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic paste
3 tablespoons oil

Instructions

1.In a pan, dry roast the fennel seeds, coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds, and onion seeds until fragrant. Allow the spices to cool before grinding them.
2.In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Once it starts crackling, add chopped onions and fry until translucent.
3.Add garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, red chilies, green chilies, and tomatoes. Fry until the tomatoes are cooked and the oil separates from the masala.
4.Add the ground spices and stir well. Add the fish cubes and mix gently.
5.Add 1/4 cup of water and cover the pan. Cook on medium heat for 7-8 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
6.Sprinkle lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves on top before serving.
