200 g ground lamb or 200 g ground beef
2 large onions
50 g split peas
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
100 g of fresh mint

Instructions

1.Peel and dice the turnips and onions.
2.Rinse the rice and soak for at least 30 minutes.
3.In a large pot, heat up 2 tablespoons of cooking oil over medium heat.
4.Add the diced onions, ground lamb or beef, and split peas. Stir thoroughly until the meat is no longer pink.
5.Sprinkle in turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Stir again.
6.Add the diced turnips and soaked rice. Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients.
7.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.
8.Add chopped fresh mint to the pot and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes or until the turnips are tender. Serve hot.
