Ingredients

1 green cabbage
1 teaspoon cumin seed
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 cups frozen green peas
2 tablespoons olive oil or 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pinch asafoetida powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
2 tablespoons coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon salt , plus more according to taste
1 tablespoon water

Instructions

1.Thinly slice the cabbage and set aside.
2.Heat oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
3.Add cumin seeds and asafoetida powder.
4.Once the seeds begin to splutter, add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chili powder.
5.After a few seconds, add the sliced cabbage and mix well.
6.Add salt and 1 tablespoon of water to the pan. Stir well and cover with lid.
7.Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
8.Add green peas to the pan and mix gently.
9.Cover with lid and simmer for another 5 minutes.
10.Remove the lid and add garam masala.
11.Stir well and let it cook for another 2 minutes.
12.Serve hot with roti or rice.
