Ingredients

1 lb beef cube steak
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 teaspoons vegetable oil , divided
1 small bell pepper , thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup water , divided
1 cup salsa
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro , chopped
Moroccan Cube Steaks are a spicy twist on traditional cube steaks, mixing savory and sweet flavors with a hint of spice. This dish is easy to prepare and perfect for busy weeknight dinners, serving 4 people in under 30 minutes. The cumin and cinnamon in this recipe add an exotic flavor to the dish, while the salsa and bell pepper give it a hint of sweetness. Instructions

1.Season both sides of your cube steaks with the salt and pepper.
2.Heat 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
3.Brown the cube steaks on both sides for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are brown and crispy. Remove the cube steaks from the skillet and set them aside.
4.Add the last teaspoon of vegetable oil to your skillet, and stir in the sliced bell pepper, the ground cumin, and the ground cinnamon. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bell pepper is tender.
5.Stir in a 1/4 cup of water, the cup of salsa, and the tablespoon of brown sugar.
6.Move the steaks back to the skillet, and spoon the salsa mixture over the cube steaks.
7.Simmer for 5-7 minutes over medium-low heat until the salsa is heated through and the cube steaks are cooked to your liking.
8.Garnish with the chopped cilantro and serve.
