1 1/2 lbs ground round or 1 1/2 lbs ground lamb

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb with the finely chopped onions, parsley, cumin, cinnamon, salt, ginger, black pepper, red pepper, and one beaten egg.
2.Knead the mixture with your hands until well blended. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
3.In a large pot or tagine dish, sauté the chopped onions in olive oil until translucent. Add the chopped tomatoes, sugar, garlic, jalapeno pepper, parsley, and cilantro. Cook the tomato mixture over medium heat until it has thickened, stirring occasionally.
4.Carefully place the meatballs into the tomato mixture, spooning some of the sauce over each meatball. Cover the pot or tagine dish and simmer until the meatballs are cooked through, about 30 minutes.
5.In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining two eggs and pour them over the meatballs. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until the eggs are set. Serve hot with crusty bread or couscous.
