Ingredients

3 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion , peeled and finely chopped
500 g stewing lamb , chopped
1 can chickpeas , drained and rinsed
3 tablespoons tomato puree
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
salt
1 liter water
1 tablespoon dried mint
5 ml lemon juice
Shorba Libya is a traditional Libyan soup that is usually served during Ramadan and special occasions. It has a unique taste that's rich in various spices and flavors. Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté onion until golden brown.
2.Add stewing lamb and sauté until browned on all sides.
3.Add chickpeas, tomato puree, coriander, turmeric, chili powder and salt. Sauté for 2 minutes.
4.Add water to the pot and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and let it simmer for 1 hour.
5.Remove the pot from the heat, add dried mint and lemon juice. Mix well and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving hot.
