Ingredients

1 whole chicken ( or 6-8 pieces bone-in chicken )
3/4 - 1 cup canned chick-peas
2 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon tomato puree , concentrate
2 onions
1 -2 garlic clove , minced
1/2 teaspoon ras el hanout spice mix
salt
3 -4 eggs
500 g orzo pasta ( or homemade tli tli )
1 chicken stock cube
olive oil or sunflower oil
This recipe is a classic Algerian dish with the name "Tli Tli B'djedj". It is a creamy and spiced dish of pasta or Tli Tli with chicken that's perfectly customary in Algerian culture. The cuisines of the African continent are full of bold flavors, which is evident in this dish. Instructions

1.In a pot, add chicken and enough water to cover it. Add chicken stock cube and bring to a boil. Skim the surface of the liquid until clear.
2.Cover the pot and let it simmer over medium to high heat for 30-40 minutes or until chicken is tender.
3.Remove the cooked chicken from the pot and let it cool. Once cooled, shred the chicken and set it aside.
4.In a separate pot, fill with water and bring it to a boil. Add some salt and pasta or tli tli to the pot and cook until tender. Drain and rinse with cold water.
5.In a saucepan, heat up butter or oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic and cook until the onions turn translucent.
6.Add canned chickpeas and ras el hanout and cook for 2-3 minutes.
7.Add chicken, tomato puree, black pepper, and cinnamon. Cook for 5 minutes or until the chicken is fully coated with the spices.
8.In a bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the cooked pasta or tli tli to the pot and stir well.
9.Pour the whisked eggs into the pot and stir well.
10.Continue stirring until the eggs are cooked and incorporated.
11.Add more salt if needed. Serve and enjoy!
