Bourek is a traditional meat-filled pastry that originates from Turkish cuisine. It is popular in many Middle Eastern countries and is often eaten as a light snack, appetizer or as part of a meal. The pastry can be filled with many different ingredients, such as cheese, spinach, potatoes, mushrooms and more. Bourek is usually triangular or cigar-shaped, and made with layers of thin phyllo pastry, giving it a light and flaky texture. The filling consists of ground meat, onions, and a mixture of spices that make it flavorful and aromatic.

Instructions

.Preheat the oven to 375°F.
.In a pan, add 1 teaspoon of butter and heat on medium.
.Add and cook the ground lamb, onion, parsley, salt and black pepper until the lamb is fully cooked.

.Brush melted butter onto one sheet of phyllo pastry.
.Add another sheet of phyllo pastry on top of the first layer of buttered pastry.
.Brush another layer of melted butter onto the second pastry sheet.
.Cut the two-layered phyllo pastry sheets into 2-inch strips.
.Add a spoonful of the cooked meat filling onto the end of each strip of pastry.

.Bake in the oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, until golden brown in color.
