2 cardamom pods

Instructions

1.Rinse the basmati rice several times until the water runs clear.

6.Cover the pan and reduce heat to low, let it cook until the rice is tender and the water has been absorbed, which usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
7.Meanwhile, in a separate pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat and add cashews and slivered almonds, sauté until they turn golden.
8.Serve the cooked rice with sautéed cashews and almonds sprinkled on top.
