1 dash ground black pepper , or to taste
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, mushrooms, carrots, and garlic. Saute for 5-7 minutes or until onions are translucent and vegetables are slightly tender.
2.Add vegetable broth, water, lentils, quinoa, tomato paste, curry powder, red chile pepper, cumin, ginger, cayenne pepper, garam masala, turmeric, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil.
3.Lower the heat and allow it to simmer for about 25-30 minutes or until the lentils are tender. Stir occasionally.
4.Once the lentils are tender, stir in the milk and butter and heat it through for another 5 minutes.
