Ingredients

1 cup cracked wheat
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion , chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter , cut into small pieces ( optional )
1/2 cup pine nuts

Instructions

1.Rinse and soak the cracked wheat in warm water, covered, for an hour and then rinse well and drain.
2.Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
3.In a large bowl, mix the cracked wheat, ground beef, onion, lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper thoroughly.
4.Grease a baking dish with butter.
5.Spread half of the meat mixture over the bottom of the greased dish.
6.Sprinkle 1/2 cup pine nuts over the meat layer.
7.Spread the remaining meat mixture over the pine nuts layer.
8.Smooth out the top and mark diamond shapes across the top with a sharp knife.
9.Fill each diamond shape with a piece of butter.
10.Bake the kibby in the preheated oven until browned and crispy, for about 45 minutes.
