1 tablespoon tahini ( sesame seed paste )
2 cups dry farina cereal
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon butter , softened
16 blanched almond halves
2 cups white sugar
2 cups water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon orange flower water ( optional )

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2.Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with tahini.
3.In a large bowl, mix together farina, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and baking powder.
4.Add yogurt and 1 tablespoon softened butter, and mix well.
5.Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth evenly.
6.Score the top of the mixture into diamond shapes.
7.Place an almond half at the center of each diamond shape.
8.Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
9.While the namoora is baking, prepare the syrup by mixing 2 cups sugar, water, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon butter, and orange flower water in a saucepan.
10.Bring syrup to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
11.When the namoora is finished baking, remove from oven and immediately pour the hot syrup over it, making sure to cover all diamond shapes.
12.Allow namoora to cool before serving, and enjoy!
