1 pound mussels , cleaned and debearded
1/2 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil ( optional )
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

1.Melt butter and olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
2.Add onion and celery; sprinkle with a pinch of salt and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

4.Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer, scrapping the browned bits off the bottom of the pan.
5.Add tomato puree, water, bay leaf, oregano, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon slices.
6.Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.
7.Add fish and cook for 5 minutes.
8.Add crab and cook for 5 minutes.
9.Add shrimp and cook for 5 minutes.
10.Add mussels, parsley, and basil (if using); season with salt and black pepper.
11.Cover pot and cook until mussels have opened, about 5 minutes longer.
