3 large Vidalia onions , cut into 1/4-inch slices , and separated into rings
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper , or more to taste
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
1 quart oil for deep frying

Instructions

1.Line a baking sheet with paper towels and place a wire rack on top. Set aside.

9.Repeat the process until all onion rings have been fried.
