Ingredients

3 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 1/4 cups wheat germ

3/4 cup unsweetened apple butter ( I used Zapple Butter )
1/3 cup maple syrup ( ideally grade B )
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup diced dried apple

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, wheat germ, cinnamon, clove and allspice.
3.Stir in the unsweetened apple butter, maple syrup, vanilla and salt until all the dry oats are moistened.
4.Spread the mixture evenly onto the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, stirring every 5-7 minutes, until lightly browned and crisp.
5.Remove from oven, stir in the diced dried apples, and allow to cool completely on the baking sheet.
6.Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
