4 ounces cold cream cheese , cut into small pieces
3/4 cup apricot jam ( raspberry also works great )
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup chopped toasted almond ( pecans and walnuts also work well )
1 teaspoon finely grated fresh lemon zest
1 large egg
1/3 cup coarse sugar

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and salt.

4.Take the dough out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before rolling it out.

9.Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
10.Whisk the egg, and brush it over the cookies. Sprinkle the coarse sugar over the cookies. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
