Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, breadcrumbs, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set aside.
3.In a large skillet, melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat.
4.Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, grated apples, and lemon rind. Cook and stir for 5-7 minutes until apples are tender.

6.In a small bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
7.In a separate bowl, mix together raspberry jam and 3/4 cup brown sugar.
8.Spread half of the breadcrumb mixture in the prepared baking dish.
9.Spoon half of the apple mixture on top, followed by half of the raspberry jam mixture.
10.Repeat layers with remaining breadcrumb mixture, apple mixture, and raspberry jam mixture.
11.Sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
12.Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and set.
