Raisin-Nut Monkey Bread is a fun and delicious twist on traditional bread recipes. It's made with a sweet yeast dough and filled with raisins and pecans, then topped with butter and cinnamon sugar before baking. The result is a soft and gooey bread that's perfect for breakfast or dessert. The bread gets its name from the way it's meant to be served- by pulling apart the individual pieces like a monkey would. While the bread does require some time to make, the end result is well worth the effort. Whether enjoyed with a cup of coffee or a tall glass of milk, this bread is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Instructions

.Warm milk and butter in a saucepan or in the microwave until butter is melted. Cool to lukewarm.
.Sprinkle yeast over warm water and mix. Stir until dissolved and let it stand for 10 minutes.
.In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, egg, salt, and yeast mixture. Mix well.
.Gradually stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough. Turn the dough on a floured board and knead for 5 minutes.
.Put the dough in an oiled bowl and turn it over to oil the surface. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
.Punch the dough down and turn it out on a floured board. Knead in nuts and raisins.
.Divide dough into 36 pieces and shape into balls.
.In a small bowl, combine remaining 1/4 cup sugar with cinnamon.
.Dip each ball into melted butter then into cinnamon sugar mixture. Arrange balls in a buttered 10-inch tube pan or bundt pan.
.Cover with a cloth and let it stand in a warm place for 30 minutes.
.Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool in pan for 10 minutes.
