5 large potatoes , peeled and cut into eighths
1/2 cup sour cream
3 ounces cream cheese , softened
4 tablespoons butter , divided
1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1.Boil the potatoes in salted water until they're tender. This should take around 15 to 20 minutes. Once done, drain them and set aside.
2.Preheat your oven to 350°F.
3.Grease a baking dish.
4.In a large bowl, add the cooked potatoes, sour cream, cream cheese, 3 tbsp. butter, and salt. Use a potato masher to mash them all together.
5.Transfer the potato mixture into the greased baking dish.
6.Melt 1 tbsp. of butter and brush it on top of the potatoes.
7.Bake for 30 minutes until it's golden brown on top. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
