Ingredients

1 cup margarine or 1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
zest and juice of one orange
2 tablespoons dark cocoa

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
2.In a large bowl, cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3.In a separate bowl, sift together flour and baking powder.
4.Gradually fold in the flour mixture into the margarine mixture and mix well to combine.
5.Divide the batter into two bowls. In one bowl, add vanilla and orange zest and mix well. In the other bowl, add orange juice and cocoa and mix well.
6.Spoon the batters alternately into the prepared cake pan to create a marbled effect.
7.Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
8.Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from the pan to cool completely.
