Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.
3.Mix in the egg yolk.
4.Gradually stir in the flour. Mix dough well and shape into small balls.
5.In another medium bowl, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form.
6.Dip each ball in the egg white first, then the chopped nuts and place on a greased baking sheet. Press thumb lightly into the center of each ball to make a small indentation where the jelly will go.
7.Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
8.Remove from oven and immediately fill each indentation with a small amount of tart jelly.
