Ingredients

6 eggs
500 g vanilla sugar ( or use regular and add 1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract with the eggs )
500 g flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
4 ml milk
100 g melted butter
350 g melted butter
100 ml milk
450 g soft brown sugar
200 g shredded coconut
Drømmekage, or Dream Cake, is a classic Danish cake that is simply delicious. This cake is loved by both kids and adults and is often enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea. It has a light and fluffy texture, and is topped with a layer of coconut and brown sugar that caramelizes in the oven. You won't be able to resist this cake!

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9 inch springform pan.
2.In a large bowl, beat together the eggs and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy.
3.Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl while continuing to mix the batter.
4.Add in the 100g melted butter and 4ml milk, and mix until well combined.
5.Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
6.In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the 350g melted butter, 100ml milk, shredded coconut, and soft brown sugar.
7.Spread the coconut mixture evenly over the top of the batter.
8.Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
