12 large tomatoes , peeled and chopped
4 large yellow onions , chopped
3 cups apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons salt

4 large apples - peeled , cored and chopped
7 canning jars with lids and rings , or as needed

Instructions

1.Combine the tomatoes, onions, cider vinegar, and salt in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.
2.Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour until the tomatoes have broken down.
3.Add in the cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and apples. Cook the mixture for 1 more hour.
4.Ladle the hot relish into sterilized canning jars, leaving 1/4 inch of space at the top of each jar. Place a lid and ring on each jar, and then process in a boiling-water canner for 15 minutes.
