Hermann - the Feeding and Care is a traditional German cake that is often shared with friends and family. It is called "Hermann" because it is a sourdough starter that is grown and shared among people, similar to a friendship bread. This cake is best served warm or at room temperature, and it can be enjoyed for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2.Combine 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of milk in a large bowl, mix well.
3.Cover the bowl with a towel and let it sit on the counter for 4 days, stir it occasionally.
4.On the 5th day, add 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of milk to the mixture, stir well.
5.Cover the bowl with a towel and let it sit on the counter for 4 more days, stir it occasionally.
6.On the 9th day, add 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt, mix well.
7.In a separate bowl, beat 3 eggs and add them to the mixture along with 2 teaspoons of vanilla, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, and 1 cup of milk, mix well.
8.Pour 1 portion of hermann batter (that's me!) into the greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
9.Let it cool for a few minutes, and enjoy!
