Ingredients

2 lbs fresh Brussels sprouts ( or two 16 ounce packages frozen Brussels sprouts , cooked and drained )
4 tablespoons softened unsalted butter , divided
salt
ground black pepper
ground nutmeg , pinch of
2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest ( optional )
1/4 lb bacon , cooked and crumbled ( optional , Easy Microwave Bacon )
creme fraiche ( optional )
Brussels sprouts Parisienne is a French-inspired dish that elevates common Brussels sprouts to a new level of flavor. Blanched Brussels sprouts are coated in butter and seasoned with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then baked until golden and crispy. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2.In a large pot of salted boiling water, blanch the Brussels sprouts for 5 minutes.
3.Drain the Brussels sprouts and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
4.In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
5.Add the Brussels sprouts and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir to coat.
6.Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a baking dish, sprinkle with lemon zest and bacon if desired.
7.Dot with the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
8.Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy around the edges.
