Ingredients

4 eggs

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.Grease a 9-inch cake pan.
3.In a bowl, sift flour and baking powder together.
4.In a separate large bowl, beat eggs and 3/4 cup sugar with an electric mixer on high speed until light.
5.Add sifted flour mixture and mix until just combined.
6.Fold in ground walnuts and mix until well combined.
7.Pour cake mixture into prepared cake pan and bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes.
8.Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
9.To prepare the cream filling, beat butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
10.Beat in egg yolk until just combined.
11.Add cocoa powder to the mixture a little at a time until desired chocolate flavor is reached. Spread the cream filling between the cake layers and on top of the cake. Yum!
