Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit for 5 minutes.
2.Add Crisco, sugar, salt, and 3 cups of flour. Mix together by hand or with a stand mixer until smooth.
3.Gradually mix in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes by hand or with a stand mixer, until it's elastic and smooth.
4.Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size (about 1 hour).
5.Punch the dough down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and flatten it slightly.
