Rutabaga Pudding is a traditional Irish recipe that dates back generations. It is a twist on the classic dessert, replacing traditional ingredients such as flour, cream, and sugar with rutabaga, a root vegetable. Rutabaga's slightly sweet and slightly bitter flavor adds a depth of flavor to the dish. The texture is smooth and creamy, and the breadcrumbs on top add a nice crunch. This pudding is perfect for those who want to try something new but still want a hearty and healthy dessert after dinner.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a two-quart baking dish.
2.Peel and cut the rutabaga into one-inch cubes.
3.Boil the rutabaga in salted water until tender and then drain the water.
4.Mash the rutabaga until smooth and then add sugar, salt, melted butter, milk, and beaten egg.
5.Mix all of the ingredients until thoroughly combined.
6.Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top.
