275 g coarse whole meal flour
175 g plain flour ( use Bread flour for better texture )
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons caster sugar ( optional )
500 ml buttermilk
1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 200°C or 392°F. Grease a round 2lb loaf tin or line with baking paper.

4.Add the buttermilk and oil to the well. Use a mixing spoon or spatula to fold in the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

6.Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the center.
7.Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
