Barbecued Beer Chicken - Beer Can is a perfect recipe for those who love the taste and tenderness of grilled chicken. This recipe calls for using a beer can to create a vertical roasting effect that allows the chicken to cook evenly and remain incredibly juicy and flavorful. This recipe is perfect for a weekend barbecue with friends and family or a special summer dinner party as it makes for a beautiful presentation. This recipe uses honey Dijon mustard, soy sauce, garlic, and red pepper flakes to add some extra flavor and depth to the chicken.

Instructions

1.Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
2.In a large bowl, combine the green onion, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and 1 cup of beer.
3.Open the beer can and pour out about 1/2 cup. Place the can on a solid surface.
4.Season the chicken with salt and pepper, inside and out. Place the chicken on the beer can, inserting the can into the cavity and balancing the chicken on its two legs and the can.
5.Brush the chicken with the beer and mustard mixture, using a pastry brush.
6.Place the chicken can-side down on the grill and cover. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, basting occasionally with the beer and mustard mixture.
7.Carefully remove the chicken from the grill using tongs and a spatula. Let rest for 5 minutes before carefully removing the beer can.
