Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 onion , chopped
2 large potatoes , diced
3 carrots , grated
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 beef bouillon cubes
3 tablespoons flour , mixed with
3 -4 tablespoons cold water , to make a runny paste
1 egg yolk , mixed with
1 tablespoon water
freshly ground salt & pepper
pastry for double-crust pie ( only have used homemade-not sure if pre-made is sturdy enough for filling )

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and no longer pink, stirring frequently to break up clumps.
3.Add in the chopped onion and cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
4.Stir in the diced potatoes, grated carrots, Worcestershire sauce, and beef bouillon cubes.
5.Cover the skillet with a lid and cook until the vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
6.Add the flour-water paste to the skillet and stir until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
7.Remove the skillet from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
8.Roll out the pie crust and place it in a deep-dish pie pan.
9.Pour the beef mixture into the pie pan and cover with another layer of pie crust.
10.Brush the top crust with the egg yolk-water mixture.
11.Bake the pie for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
