Buffalo chicken wings are a classic American dish typically made by deep-frying chicken wings and coating them in a spicy sauce made with hot sauce and butter. This recipe offers a healthier twist on the popular dish by boiling the wings before broiling them to crisp up the skin. The result is a tender and flavorful chicken wing with less fat and fewer calories. The hot sauce adds a spicy kick, which can be adjusted to your preference. These wings are perfect for game day or any party.

Instructions

.Preheat your broiler to high.
.In a large pot of boiling water, cook the chicken wings for 10-15 minutes.
.Mix the garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, dried thyme, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, and salt (if using) in a bowl.
.Drain the chicken wings and pat dry with paper towels.
.Place the wings in a large ziplock bag and add the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Seal the bag and shake until the wings are evenly coated.
.Line a broiler pan with aluminum foil and coat with cooking spray. Add the wings in a single layer and broil for 10-12 minutes on each side, or until crispy and browned.
.While the wings are cooking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the hot sauce, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes.
.Place the cooked wings in a large bowl and toss with the hot sauce mixture until evenly coated.
