Instructions

1.In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2.Beat in egg and vanilla.
3.Gradually add flour and salt, mixing well after each addition, to form a soft dough.
4.Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
5.Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
6.In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
7.Add almond flavoring, almond paste, salt, and melted butter. Mix well.
8.Roll dough out onto a floured surface. Cut dough into 2-inch squares.
9.Spoon almond mixture onto one half of the square. Sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts.
10.Fold other half of the square over the mixture to create a triangle shape. Crimp edges with a fork to seal.
11.Place triangles on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
12.Let cool for a few minutes, then dust with powdered sugar mixed with a little water to create a glaze.
