1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium yellow onion , finely chopped
3 -4 garlic cloves , minced
2 cans crushed tomatoes
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon dried Italian spices ( rub between fingers to waken flavors )
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup marsala wine
1 bay leaf
1 dash kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
