1/3 cup ice water
8 ounces almond paste
1 egg
1/4 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
2.Cut in chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3.Gradually add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball.
4.Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and refrigerate while preparing the filling.
5.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C)

8.Cut each into nine 4-inch squares. Place a tablespoon of the almond mixture into the center of each square.
9.Shape each square into a letter by folding two opposite corners to the center to cover the filling and pinching the edges firmly to seal.
10.Brush the tops with milk and sprinkle with 1/3 cup sugar.
11.Bake for 15-20 mins, until lightly browned.
