2 pounds tart apples - peeled , cored , and sliced
1/2 cup sultana raisins
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
2.Add in the butter and mix until the mixture resembles crumbs, then stir in one beaten egg.
3.Knead the dough until it forms a ball, then chill it for 1 hour.
4.Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
5.Roll two-thirds of the dough into a circle and transfer it to a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan.
6.Layer the apple slices in the pan and sprinkle them with raisins, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
7.Roll out the remaining dough and cut it into long strips.
8.Arrange the strips over the top of the apples in a lattice pattern, then brush the remaining beaten egg over the crust.
9.Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
