3/4 lb green beans , trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
2/3 cup prepared basil pesto
1/2 cup parmesan cheese , grated

Instructions

1.Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until just tender. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.

3.While the pasta is cooking, blanch the green beans in a pot of boiling salted water for about 2 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and plunge them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. Drain again and set aside.
4.In a large bowl, toss together the hot pasta, pesto, green beans, and parmesan cheese. Add the reserved pasta water, a tablespoon at a time, to thin the sauce if necessary. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired.
