2 cups uncooked long-grain rice

2 large savoy cabbage

2 onions , chopped
3 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup uncooked long-grain rice
1 lb extra lean ground beef
1/2 lb pork sausage
4 garlic cloves , minced
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
2 teaspoons dried sage
2 teaspoons dried basil
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1 can condensed tomato soup
1 can whole canned tomatoes , with liquid
8 bay leaves

Instructions

1.Cook the rice with 4 cups of water until tender. Set aside to cool.

8.Put a small amount of cooked rice into the center of each cabbage leaf. Add meat mixture on top and fold the sides in to cover the filling.
9.Place stuffed cabbage leaves seam-side down in a greased baking dish.
10.Pour 1 cup of water over the stuffed cabbage leaves.
11.Cover the baking dish and bake for 45 minutes.
12.Serve hot.
