1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 tablespoon butter
3 cans tomato sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup cottage cheese
1 package cream cheese , softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup onion , chopped
1/2 cup bell pepper , chopped
1 cup cheddar cheese , grated

Instructions

1.Cook egg noodles according to package directions and drain the water afterwards.
2.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
3.In a skillet, cook the minced garlic and lean ground beef for 5 to 7 minutes or until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.
4.Add tomato sauce, sugar, chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Mix well and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
5.In a large mixing bowl, mix cottage cheese, softened cream cheese, and sour cream together.
6.In a 9x13 inch baking dish, add the cooked egg noodles and pour in the beef mixture over the noodles. Mix well.
7.Add the cottage cheese mixture in dollops to the top of the beef mixture.
8.Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top.
9.Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
10.Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the cheddar cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
