12 large manicotti , cooked , rinsed , drained
1 lb ground beef ( or venison combination )
1 quart spaghetti sauce , divided
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese , divided
2 cups ricotta cheese ( see note below )
2 tablespoons dried basil ( see other note below )
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Brown ground beef over medium high heat until fully cooked.
3.Add 3 cups of spaghetti sauce to the ground beef and stir until well combined.
4.In a separate bowl, mix together 3 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, 2 cups of ricotta cheese and 2 tablespoons of dried basil.
5.Stuff each cooked manicotti shell with the cheese mixture and place them in a 13x9 inch baking dish.
6.Pour meat sauce over manicotti shells and sprinkle remaining shredded mozzarella cheese and grated parmesan cheese on top.
7.Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, remove foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes or until cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
