Ingredients

1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup warm water
4 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup epicure 's focaccia bread spices
1/3 cup olive oil
3/4 cup hot water
2 teaspoons salt
4 cups flour
3 tablespoons cornmeal
1 tablespoon sea salt
Focaccia is a classic Italian bread that originated in Genoa. This bread is known for its textured, slightly chewy crust and tender, airy crumb. Instructions

1.In a bowl, add sugar and warm water. Stir until the sugar dissolves and add yeast. Mix well and let the mixture rest for 10 minutes or until yeast becomes frothy.
2.In a large bowl, add focaccia bread spices, olive oil and hot water. Mix well and add yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.
3.Add flour and salt to the mixture and knead well until a dough is formed. Lightly flour a clean surface and transfer the dough on it. Knead for another 10 minutes or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
4.Grease a baking dish with olive oil and place the dough in it. Cover the dish with a clean towel and let the dough rise for an hour.
5.Preheat the oven to 200°C. Press the dough gently with your fingertips to form small dimples. Sprinkle cornmeal and sea salt on top of the dough. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
