Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb mild Italian sausage
1 package pepperoni , diced
1 large onion , chopped ( about 1/2 pound )
1 small green pepper , stemmed , seeded & chopped ( about 1/4 pound )
1/2 lb mushroom , sliced
4 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon dried basil ( I add fresh at the end instead )
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 cup molasses
2 cans tomato puree
1 cup beer
1 cup dry red wine
1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley ( my addition )
chiffonade fresh basil , to taste ( my addition )

Instructions

1.In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.

3.Add the dried basil, oregano, marjoram, rosemary, and thyme. Stir to combine.

5.Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6.Serve over your favorite pasta and top with fresh Italian parsley and basil.
