Ingredients

edible wafer paper , enough for 2 layers in pan
1/3 cup cornstarch
3 large egg whites
1 cup honey
3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup confectioners ' sugar
1 cup shelled raw pistachios
1 cup blanched almond
1 grated orange , zest of
1/3 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
Torrone is a traditional Italian treat that is made with honey, nuts, and egg whites. It is served during special occasions such as weddings, Christmas, and other celebrations. The combination of honey, nuts, and egg whites satisfies any sweet cravings with a slightly chewy and crispy texture. Instructions

1.Line a 9x13 inch pan with edible wafer paper.
2.In a medium bowl, sift cornstarch and dust the pan, set aside.
3.In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg whites to stiff peaks, set aside.
4.In a medium saucepan, mix honey and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir occasionally and cook until the temperature reaches 300°F (150°C).
5.Fold the warm honey mixture into the egg white mixture quickly. Beating continuously for 5-6 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
6.Add confectioners' sugar, shelled raw pistachios, blanched almond, grated orange zest, and freshly ground black pepper to the mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
7.Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and press gently until it's evenly distributed. Cover the top with the remaining edible wafer paper.
8.Let it cool down for at least 1 hour before slicing into your desired size of pieces.

PROS

Torrone has a long shelf life, and it’s easy to make with very few ingredients.
