Served chilled, this dessert is perfect for hot summer days, and the crispy texture pairs well with the creamy and smooth texture of the filling, making it an ideal choice for those who want something sweet and delectable at the end of their meal.

.Fry the circles for a minute or two until they are golden brown or crispy.
.In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, confectioner's sugar, and Grand Marnier (optional) together until well combined.
.To make the chocolate sauce, melt the unsweetened chocolate or melt bittersweet chocolate chips in a bowl and pour in the syrup.
.Spread the ricotta mixture over the cooled pastry round, then add another layer of pastry and ricotta mixture on top.
.Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the top and sprinkle with candied orange peel and toasted almonds.
