Ingredients

1 cup cold water
4 lemons
Granita De Limone, also known as Sicilian Lemon Ice, is a popular dessert in Italy that has made its way into many other countries around the world. This frozen dessert is made with fresh lemons and sugar, and is typically served as a palate cleanser between courses or as a refreshing dessert on a hot summer's day. The mixture is frozen and then scraped with a fork, resulting in a light, fluffy texture that is similar to shaved ice. The sourness of the lemon is balanced out by the sweetness of the sugar, resulting in a dessert that is both tangy and refreshing.

Instructions

1.Juice the lemons and set the juice aside.
2.In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water and stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
3.Remove from heat and let cool.
4.Once cooled, add the lemon juice and stir to combine.
5.Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place in the freezer.
6.After 30 minutes, take the dish out of the freezer and scrape the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals that have formed.
7.Continue to scrape the mixture every 30 minutes or so, until you have a light and fluffy frozen dessert.
8.Serve the Granita De Limone in chilled glasses.

PROS

This Granita De Limone is a light and refreshing dessert that is perfect for hot summer days.

It is also a low-calorie alternative to traditional ice cream or sorbet.

CONS

The freezing process can take a bit of time and requires frequent scraping of the mixture, so it is not a quick dessert to make.

Also, some may find the sourness of the lemon to be too strong.
